It is with great excitement that I announce our Nutrition Services Team received not one, but three recognition awards from the USDA and Action for Healthy Kids. The awards we received are the Small and/or Rural Lunch Trailblazer Award, The Lunch Trailblazer Award, and the Innovation in the Preparation of School Meals.
Our team received these awards because of their efforts to improve our meals provided to our students. These changes include more scratch made meals that provide better nutrients and utilizing locally sourced ingredients. Our district is also the first to receive three awards and will be nationally recognized for these accomplishments.
Congratulations to our amazing kitchen staff for all the hard work they put into making our students nutritious meals and receiving these awards.
